Calamba City Dads Earns Multiple DSWD Honors for Outstanding Social Welfare Programs
CALAMBA CITY, Laguna — The City Government of Calamba has once again cemented its reputation as one of the country’s top-performing local government units after receiving multiple prestigious recognitions from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) during the “Panata Ko sa Bayan” Awards, affirming the city’s unwavering commitment to delivering responsive, inclusive, and people-centered social services.
The latest accolades reflect the strong leadership of Mayor Roseller “Ross” H. Rizal, whose administration continues to prioritize programs that uplift the lives of children, youth, families, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable sectors of the community.
Expressing his gratitude, Mayor Rizal described the recognition as a testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire city government.
“It is a great honor for the City Government of Calamba to once again be recognized by the Department of Social Welfare and Development through the ‘Panata Ko sa Bayan’ Awards. These distinctions reflect our continuing commitment to delivering efficient, compassionate, and quality social services to every Calambeño,” Mayor Rizal said.
Among the distinctions received by Calamba City were:
- 2025 Model LGU Implementing Day Care Services – Hall of Famer
- 2025 Model LGU Implementing Protective Programs and Services (City Level)
- 2025 Best Implementation of Social Welfare and Development Programs and Services for Youth
- Good Practices in the Implementation of Social Welfare and Development Laws
The awards recognize Calamba City’s excellence in implementing innovative and sustainable social welfare initiatives that directly benefit its residents while ensuring that government services remain accessible, responsive, and inclusive.
Mayor Rizal stressed that the achievement is a shared victory made possible through the dedication of government employees, partner agencies, stakeholders, and the continued trust and cooperation of the Calambeño community.
