PAGBILAO, QUEZON – “Alon at Ani” Program Enters Second Year, Strengthens Fisherfolk Partnership in Pagbilao
In a continued effort to promote sustainable coastal livelihoods and community collaboration, AboitizPower subsidiary Therma Luzon Inc. (TLI), together with Aboitiz Foundation Inc. and the Pagbilao local government unit (LGU), officially launched the second year of the “Alon at Ani” initiative on May 22, 2026.
The program brought together presidents of local fisherfolk associations and key community stakeholders in a renewed platform for dialogue and engagement. Building on its initial success, the initiative continues to serve as a space where fisherfolk voices are heard, highlighting their challenges, aspirations, and recommendations as part of TLI’s broader commitment to inclusive community development.
This year’s kickoff featured storytelling sessions, local cultural performances, and informal consultations designed to deepen community participation and strengthen trust between stakeholders. These activities laid the groundwork for more structured and long-term collaborative actions aimed at improving livelihoods in coastal communities.
Expanding its reach in its second year, “Alon at Ani” will now benefit more than 450 fisherfolk in Pagbilao. The program underscores a shared commitment among partners to enhance sustainable livelihood opportunities, reinforce community resilience, and support the protection and rehabilitation of the marine ecosystem of Pagbilao Bay.(PJ Tanglao)
