Despite attempts to obstruct the entry of invited resource persons, Senate staff, and members of the media, Senator Pia S. Cayetano personally escorted them into the Senate to allow the Blue Ribbon Committee hearing to proceed as scheduled.
In her opening statement, she questioned efforts to disrupt the proceedings and stressed that legislative inquiries must not be hindered. “This is the Senate.
