Quezon Province Leads Tree-Growing Activity in Celebration of Arbor Day
TIAONG, Quezon — In celebration of Arbor Day, the Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Office (PGENRO), under the leadership of PG-ENRO Head Engr. John Francis L. Luzano, spearheaded a Tree-Growing Activity in Barangay Bukal, Tiaong, Quezon on June 25, 2026.
The activity was successfully conducted through the collaboration and support of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tiaong, particularly its Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), and the Barangay Government of Bukal.
Representatives from various offices of the Provincial Government of Quezon, LGU Tiaong, Barangay Bukal, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and other partner agencies actively participated in the event. Together, they planted 500 forest and fruit-bearing tree seedlings, including Kamagong, Lipote, Katmon, Banaba, Ilang-Ilang, Paho, and Santol, as part of ongoing efforts to protect and restore the province’s natural resources.
In addition to the tree-growing activity, Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials, such as hand fans, were distributed to participants. Residents who actively engage in environmental initiatives also received the ENR Card, accompanied by a complimentary tumbler as a reward for their commitment to environmental stewardship.
The activity highlighted the importance of collective action in safeguarding the environment. Through shared responsibility and sustained efforts, communities can help ensure the preservation of natural resources for the benefit of both present and future generations.
