QUEZON PROVINCIAL BOARD HOLDS 50TH REGULAR SESSION; KEY RESOLUTIONS APPROVED
The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Quezon successfully opened its 50th regular session on Monday, June 22, at the Session Hall of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Building. During the privilege speech of 1st District Board Member Julius Jay Luces, the worsening water supply problem affecting the cities of Lucena and Tayabas, as well as the municipalities of Atimonan, Mauban, and Pagbilao, was brought to the attention of the legislative body.
During the session, the board approved a resolution authorizing Governor Dr. Helen Tan to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Southern Luzon State University for the project titled “Tissue Culture Propagation of Potato and Other Suitable Crops,” which aims to support and strengthen the agricultural sector of the province. The Provincial Ordinance No. 2026-009 was also passed, establishing the Balikatan Quezon Program (BQP), which seeks to enhance citizens’ participation in government programs and initiatives.
The Sangguniang Panlalawigan also recognized young student-athletes who won gold medals in the Palarong Pambansa, as well as EnP Kenneth Gualberto Cunanan, who secured 5th place in the Environmental Planner Licensure Examination. The provincial board is expected to continue creating policies and programs that will further improve public services and promote sustainable development in Quezon Province.
